At Broadus Church, we live out our faith by serving others. Guided by Mark 10:45 —
“For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
We believe that true discipleship means following Jesus’ example of love, compassion, and service.
Our church is mission-minded, with a heart for people both locally and globally. Every ministry, outreach, and partnership reflects our desire to be the hands and feet of Christ in a world that needs His hope.
Local Ministries
- 🔥 Firewood Ministry – Providing warmth for families through the winter.
- 🪜 Wheelchair Ramp Ministry – Building safe access for neighbors with mobility challenges.
- 🪑 Furniture Ministry – Helping turn houses into homes for families in need.
- 🩺 Medical Supplies Ministry – Supplying essential medical equipment and support.
- 🎒 School Engagement Ministry – Partnering with local schools to encourage and assist students and staff.
- 🛠️ InAsMuch and Spring Service Days – Church-wide community service projects that meet practical needs across our region.
- 🍞 Food Ministry (Hebron Campus) – Providing groceries and encouragement to over 200 individuals and families each month.
- 🏕️ Kids Outdoor Zone (KOZ) – Mentoring boys through outdoor adventures and biblical lessons at the Hebron Campus.
Community Events
- ✨ The Living Nativity – A biennial outdoor production that draws 1,200–2,000 guests to experience the story of Christ’s birth.
- 🌷 Spring Fling & Fall Festival – Welcoming more than 500 guests for family-friendly fun, food, and fellowship.
- ⛪ Vacation Bible School (VBS) – A week of faith, music, and creativity for children each summer.
- 🎉 Fun! Fridays – Monthly gatherings for kids to learn, laugh, and grow together in faith.
Supported Ministries
- ❤️ Moments of Hope Outreach – Supporting the homeless through meals, shelter, and care.
- 🥫 Mechanicsville Churches Emergency Functions (MCEF) – Providing food, clothing, and transportation for local residents in need.
- 🏕️ Camp Alkulana – A Christian summer camp for at-risk youth from Central Virginia.
- 🛏️ Sleep in Heavenly Peace – Building and delivering beds for children who don’t have one.
- 🐄 Heifer International – Empowering families around the world through sustainable gifts that fight hunger and poverty.
- 🎁 Operation Christmas Child – Packing shoeboxes filled with gifts and the message of Christ’s love for children around the world.
- 🧣 The Warming Tree – Collecting mittens, hats, and socks for neighbors in need each winter.
- 🔄 The Fix Ministry – Supporting individuals on their journey of healing and renewal through Christ.
- Baptist General Association of Virginia (BGAV) – A network of churches supporting ministries and missions across Virginia and around the world.
- Dover Baptist Association – Our local network of Baptist churches serving Hanover, New Kent, King & Queen, King William, and Goochland counties.
